William J. Jerreld departed this life to join our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 2, 2012. He died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. He was born to William J. Jerreld, Sr. and Helene C. Carland in Philadelphia, PA on January 6, 1922. After years of traveling, the family moved from Buffalo, NY to Pensacola, FL in 1988. Bill joined the Marine Corps in World War II and was active in four Pacific Island Campaigns. He retired after thirty years of service and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In civilian life he was a commercial lithographer. He was a parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church, active in the Eucharistic Adoration Community. Trudy, his beloved wife of 56 years, preceded him in death.
Survivors are his loving family, including: Patricia Finley (Timothy), Kathleen Wyland, Barbara VanRysdam (Casey), Constance Kallin, Nancy Knighton (Robert), William Jerreld III (Susan), Elizabeth Smith (Thomas), James Jerreld (Diane), Mary Jerreld, Joan Hawco (James), Christine DuFresne (Shaun), and Timothy Jerreld (April). He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Visitation at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway, Thursday, December 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 3131 Hyde Park Road on Friday, December 7 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Father Douglas Halsema as celebrant. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park with full military honors. The Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, December 06, 2012 at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their sincerest appreciation for all of the love and care given to them at this time.
