 I cannot believe it’s been a year since you were taken from us - it will never be the same without you.  You were the Dad that everyone wishes they had, and I am just so sorry you’re gone. 

Bill,
You are so missed. You were always a great brother-in-law, and you were always so kind to my parents. We all are still sad that none of us could be with you in your last days due to the pandemic. Your kids and grandkids continue to be wonderful people.

Butch, as I new him, was a senior at Alabama College in Montevallo when I got to know him through sports car activities. I was still in high school at the time, but in spite of our seven year age difference we got to be good friends.  The year after that he became my high school band director, and he was a fine one.
The following year, he left for the Navy, and my family moved to Tennessee and we lost touch. Butch taught me many things and has been a major influence on my life even to this day. I sincerely regret his passing.

Butch and I as students at Brevard College participated in  Road Rally to Chimney Rock. As we approached  the starting line, we noted the hefty registration fee that we could ill afford, so we devised a plan:  I would be stowed in the trunk ( I dare anyone to attempt to fit into the trunk of a M G sports car) and after passing through the toll gate, I would unwind myself and resume my position in the front seat where I sat until we were nabbed shortly thereafter at the next station where our conspiracy was discovered. We  paid up and resumed the rally to the top.  It was fun day actually. Butch and played in a jazz band at Brevard where his exceptional talent was on display, Rest In Peace.



Mr. Moseley was my landlord from Fall 2017-now. He was a great man who always worked with me on rent when I was struggling financially, as I am a student in law school living on student loans. He also made sure that the apartments were always kept up (the yard, driveway, roof, plumbing, etc.). I will miss his random visits to Tuscaloosa and his humor. Last time he was here I was sick with a cold and couldn’t go with him to eat when he invited me, and I’ll forever regret it. Rest In Peace, Bill. Condolences to your family. 

I enjoyed knowing Bill at Brevard College. Bill created compositions with the great composer and Brevard orchestra teacher Major Thomas Cousins, I hope someone can play his compositions at his memorial. Our choir sang each week for our worship time, and took many touring trips around the country including one in Florida and another in North Carolina where I stayed in the Haynes Hosiery  Plant owners home.   Bill played his trumpet to awaken the sunrise on Easter morning  at Chimney Rock  and our  college choir sang under the direction  Mr Adams. Bill signed his name under my yearbook photo of Mr. Cousins,  “I wrote it “ Butch Moseley .  This is what Bill preferred to be called. I remember Butch as a friend and a very kind and talented musician,  I was so happy that he returned for the Brevard College 
Reunion, bringing his son with him,  He is probably playing his trumpet in heaven .  One day we will join that chorus in heaven with Butch, Ruth Pool Moore

In 1962 Monnie, Bill, Brenda, and I were at Montevallo College. It was an immediate attraction for Bill & Monnie. Yes he could make that trumpet sing. Bill had many talents and gifts. Real nice guy.

Bill was a kind brother-in-law.  He always captured memories of our family with his photography skills. He was sentmental; I enjoyed watching him capture the smallest items his children made, built, or used throughout their years, and preserve them with love.
