He served in the United States Army from 1973-1980, and was honorably discharged. He then worked as a safety inspector with NAS Pensacola, where he retired.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Monter Wasden; mother, Annie Ruth Wasden; and brother, Michael Monter Wasden.
Rick is survived by his daughters, Sigrid Nadine Wasden of Niceville, Fl, Megan Kerstin (James) Taylor of Freeport, Fl; grandchildren, Aralyn McKinley Taylor, Camdon Houston Taylor; sisters, Ruth Nadine (John) Welsford of Big Pointe, MS, Belinda Faye (Carl) Evans of Big Pointe, MS; brother, David Wayne (Angelia) Wasden of Lucedale, MS; ex wife and mother of his children, Heike Gertrud Wasden of Niceville, Fl; ex wife and friend, Rhonda Wasden of Holt, Fl; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
We the family would like to express our sincere thank you to Covenant Hospice Inpatient & Palliative Care Center and the ICU unit of West Florida Hospital for the loving care they provided for Rick.
A visitation for Rick will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will start at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will immediately follow at Barrancas National Cemetery NAS-Pensacola with military honors.
