On Saturday, June 29, 2019 in Hospice at West Florida Hospital, our mom Willie “Tina” M. Thompson, age 84, passed to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ and our dad Hubert Thompson. In her last six months, she battled a few different illnesses only to lose her battle. She fought and ran a good race while she was here with us. She was born to Frank Miller and Stella Jones on April 3, 1935 who preceded her in death as well as our father, Hubert Thompson. She is survived by her four children: Pamela Scott of Pensacola, FL.; James Thompson of Clayton, GA; Sherry Cregger of Harold, FL; and Roderick Thompson of Jasper, AL. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Robert Gillam II of Mobile, AL; Jenniffer Thompson of Mobile, AL; Casey Cregger of Harold, FL; Kaylee Key , Sarah and Sydney Thompson of Jasper, AL; and six great grandchildren: Rylee, Rihana, and Austin Gillam and Danielle Ducote of Mobile, AL; Oakleigh Key of Jasper AL; and Addison Cregger of Harold, FL. She is also survived by the spouses of four children and one grandchild Jimmy Scott, Bob Gregger, Karon Thompson, Leslie Thompson, and Rebekah Gillam. Also survived by special family friends Carmen Barrington and family; Todd McCabe and family; and her best friend Rose McCabe; and preceded in death by Jim McCabe, all of Pensacola, FL. The first Job she held was in California picking fruit which had a small pay – but she still kept her first pay stub. She mostly loved cooking so she chose foodservice; three of her kids and a few grandchildren follow in her footsteps. She did fast food all the way up to Officer’s Club out at Saufley Field. After a full day there, she would change clothes and would go off to another job with the American Cancer Society or March of Dimes; she also ran a full-time make-up business in her home as MarJo. After twenty years she retired from Saufley Field and went to work with her daughter Sherry at her restaurant and later retired from there too!
