

Born January 21, 1941 in Kewanee, IL to Morrill and Dorothy (Robinson) Hultgren; he married Lois Pennington on September 19, 1965 in Peoria and she survives.
Also surviving are their children, Jeff Hultgren of Spring, TX, Diane (Steve) Morrill of Sugar Grove, IL and Michele (Brett) Miller of Union, MO; grandchildren, Griffin, Jackson, Lilly and Mayson and his brother, Robert (Carol) Hultgren of Peoria.
Al was an Engineering Technician working for the Illinois Department of Transportation for 38 years, retiring in 1999. In retirement he worked as an engineering consultant for firms in the Peoria area.
He served in the Army National Guard from 1963 to 1969, attaining the rank of Sergeant.
As a member of United Presbyterian Church in Peoria Al served as an Elder, Deacon, Deacon Moderator, as a Sunday School teacher and in the Bell Choir. He volunteered his assistance to the Worship Team and office staff- leaving his touch on every aspect in the life of the church.
He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who enjoyed bowling, fantasy football and trips to the family cottage in Minnesota.
Allan lived a humble life of kindness and service, always putting the needs of others before his own and he did so with great joy.
The ceremony to celebrate Al’s life will be at 11:00 am Monday, November 16, 2015 at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. The Rev. Patricia Stetson-Warning will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens with military honors presented by the US Army. Visitation will be Sunday, 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to United Presbyterian Church or to OSF Hospice for the wonderful care rendered by their staff.
