Born on August 31, 1933 in the town of Durmersheim, Germany to Karolina Bloos and raised by her grandmother and namesake -Anna Klenk- and family; Anna lived through the perils and hardships of World War II before becoming a dental assistant in a nearby city. There she met and married her first husband, American Warrant Officer Donald Voltz, and together they relocated to the United States in 1955 by way of Ellis Island. Together the couple traveled globally with Don’s military career while raising their daughter, Donna. Anna’s favorite stories of this time were of a hike up Mt. Fuji and of a 5-year-old Donna sneaking off-base to speak Japanese with the local children. After Don’s untimely passing in 1962, mother and daughter moved to Peoria to be with family. There, Anna fell in love with and married her second husband Dr Irving Favus in 1965. Together, the two were known throughout for their love of Peoria, community participation, and giving nature - along with Anna’s charisma. Sitting on multiple Peoria boards, the city was always a very special place to her. Irving adopted Donna, and Anna proudly watched as her daughter followed him into Peoria’s medical community. After years of service and travel, Anna and Irving enjoyed their golden years at the Twin Towers in downtown Peoria while helping look after their pride-and-joy, grandson Sean. Anna was the first to say how great her life turned out, “especially for a small-town German girl”. Always up to date on the world’s events, she prided herself in a sharp wardrobe and a sharp mind. Irving passed in 2006, and Anna moved to East Peoria’s Riverview in 2014 where she was a community celebrity, avid reader, word-searcher, news-watcher, and never shied from a discussion on any world topic with her millennial grandson. Anna impacted everyone she met, and will be fiercely missed and fondly remembered.
Surviving Anna is her Daughter, Donna (Tim) Patrick of Peoria, grandson Sean Patrick, along with Irv’s sons; Mark Favus and family (Tonya and Jessica) and Don (Sheri) Favus and their daughter Erin. In Deutschland wird sie von ihrer Schwester Christa zusammen mit einer großen Familie stolzer Deutscher überlebt.
