

He was born on October 28, 1928 in Peoria, IL to Arthur A. and Frances C. Zimmerman. He married Rose-Marie S. Schneiter on September 6, 1964 in Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rose-Marie of Peoria, four children, Patricia (Tom) Burton of Auburn, WA.; Patrick (Eve) Zimmerman of Table Grove, IL; Cynthia (Harley “Toby”) Grove of Creve Coeur, IL; and Kimberly (Scott) Weddle of Stevens Point, WI. Also surviving are ten grandchildren; Tyler, Derek, Ethan, Aaron, Rebecca, Michael, Katie, Maddie, John, and Faith, one cousin, Joan Carnavale of Monticello, NY; several nieces and one nephew.
Art worked for the U.S Postal Service for 33 years as a Postal Clerk before retiring in 1985. He then worked for five years in sales for Chicago Motor Club. Art was a former member of Temple Lodge #46 A.F. & A.M. and a life member of the Peoria Casting Club. He was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling and on May 10, his last turkey hunt, with much regret he returned with no turkey. Art will be greatly missed by his family, his dog, Barney and his two cats, Leo and Sammy.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 4:00 pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate. Burial of the urn will be at a later date at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
