She was born Sept. 12, 1939 in Peoria to Albert and Catherine (Cullen) Johnson. She married Roland Gillespie on Sept. 13, 1959. She later married Terry Capron on Dec. 22, 1973. He survives. Barb is also survived by one son, Roland (Michelle) Gillespie of Groveland, four step-children: Sherrie Lee of Chillicothe, Donald (Laurie) of Chillicothe, Terry Dean (Shawna) Capron of Pahrump, NV, Beverly (Don) Preston of Las Vegas, NV, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter.
Barb was a Secretary at Keystone Steel and Wire from 1957 -1982 then worked for CILCO from 1983 until her retirement in 1999.
She loved to bowl, golf, play cards, and cheer on the Cubs. She also loved her kitty cats: Tuffy and CeCe.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Barb’s life will be Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
