Born September 20, 1933, in Peoria IL, the eldest child of the late Blanche LeSeure and Joseph Walter Brown, she married Frank E. Hutt on June 4, 1955, in Peoria. Her husband and her sister Mary Jo Blazek preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Eric (Amy Myers) Hutt of Waveland, Mississippi and daughter Laura (Mark) Bailey of Texarkana, Texas; four grandchildren, Patrick and Brian Hutt, Andrew (Lindsay) Bailey and Erica (Andy) Jones; five great-grandchildren; her brother, Charles Jay (Linda) Brown, of Nevada; and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara graduated from Manual High School in 1951. She attended Bradley University and graduated from St. Francis Hospital’s School of Medical Technology in 1954. Barbara enjoyed a long career as a medical technologist for the American Red Cross. She retired in 1989.
A lifelong member of First Federated Church in Peoria, Barbara served as a deacon for many years, was active in the Women’s Club, and was formerly a member of the Executive Board. She was a member of the Peoria Chapter AH of PEO and the Peoria Historical Society. In addition to her volunteer activities, Barbara enjoyed reading, traveling, and sharing her love with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at First Federated Church on Friday, May 28, 2021, at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Cremation rites have been accorded by Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Federated Church of Peoria or a charity of the donor’s choice.
