Bernice F. Hartseil

Peoria – Bernice F. (Raistrick) Hartseil, 95, of Peoria, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 27, 2021 at her home. She was born in Peoria on January 1, 1926 to Thomas A. and Esther E. (Cooke) Raistrick. She married Howard R. “Bob” Hartseil of Glasford on January 22, 1949 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1988 in Peoria.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and two sisters. Bernice is survived by two daughters, Norma E. (Richard) Raistrick of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA and Nancy M. (Doug) Gudat of Lacon; two sons, Everett A. (Lisa) Hartseil II of Port St. Lucie, FL and Robert H. (Connie) Hartseil of Peoria; one sister, Linda Jane (Raistrick) Cox of Morton; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Bernice worked at Boss Glove Factory, Caterpillar Tractor Company, was a former 4-H Leader, a beautician, and ran N.B.N. Word Processing Service. She was a past president and held other offices in Expanding Human Awareness, and a member and past officer of the Peoria County Genealogy Society. Spending time with her family was the most important thing to Bernice. In her spare time she enjoyed oil and acrylic painting.

Bernice’s funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2021 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Her visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2021 also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Peoria.
