Bessie Lee Brown

Bessie was born on December 26, 1932 in Leflore, Mississippi to Isaiah Sr. and Sally Bankston White. She married Lonzo “Bud” Brown, Sr. on August 29, 1949, in Peoria. He passed away on December 16, 2002, in Peoria. Bessie was a stay at home wife and mother who loved her family. She also loved playing the piano, singing, cooking, and reading her bible.

Bessie leaves to cherish her precious memories to her four daughters, Rozina McCeary, of Memphis, TN, Maxine Bass, of Long Beach, CA, Regina Pendergraph, of Fort Wayne, IN, and Theresa Brown, of Denver, CO; three sons, Lonzo (Kimberly) Brown, Jr., Jeffery, and Kevin Brown, all of Peoria; one brother, Chet White, of Greenwood, MS; three loving grandchildren whom she raised, Deaundre (Felicha), and Lakisha Brown, of Peoria, and Termaine Brown, of Chicago; 38 grandchildren; 85 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Bessie is preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, one daughter, Angela Brown, two sisters, two brothers, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 12PM at New Life Christian Church, 2018 W. Kellogg Ave. Peoria with Rev. Spencer Gibson, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 11AM until the service time. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery.
