

She was born January 23, 1938, in Allendale, Michigan to Harold and Dorothy Schilling (Both deceased). She married Marvin Fahling at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conklin, Michigan on July 16, 1960. He preceded her in death in October 2021.
Surviving are three children, son Kevin (Tammy) Fahling of Towanda, Illinois, daughter Connie (Ross) Pauli of Peoria, Illinois and son Mark (Patti) Fahling of Gaffney, South Carolina. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Matthew Fahling of Kentwood, Michigan, Jeremy (Alexis Presbrey) Fahling of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Kiara and Nicole Pauli of Peoria, Illinois. In addition, one brother, Larry (Lynne) Schilling of Bethany, Connecticut and sister-in-law Joyce Schilling, Kentwood, Michigan also survive.
Preceding her in death was one sister Donna Sawyer, three brothers William, Charles and Allen Schilling.
Betty graduated from Coopersville Michigan high school in 1956. After graduation she worked in the office of Beatrice Foods in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She and Marvin moved to Peoria, Illinois in October 1976. She worked for over 30 years in the office of Central Pool Supply, officially retiring in 2007. She loved watching her children play sports. Later in life she and Marvin enjoyed watching their grandchildren play their sports of soccer, rugby, wrestling, softball, dance, karate, track and field. She was a long-term member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Peoria, IL joining in 1977.
Funeral services will be at 11 am on Friday, February 16, 2024 with visitation from 9:30 am until the start of the service at Redeemer Lutheran Church Peoria. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in a private ceremony at a later date.
