Betty Lou Mathews

Betty Lou Mathews, age 83, of Peoria, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Betty was born on October 16, 1929 in Anderson, Indiana to George and Della (Kerns) Frisch. She married Gordon Creech in January of 1952. He preceded her in death in April of 1997. She later married Robert Mathews on April 29, 2000 in Peoria. Betty is survived by her husband, Bob; her daughter, Della Ann Creech of Peoria; her step-daughter, Lisa Mathews of Peoria; her step-son, Scott (JoAnn) Mathews of Hoffman Estates; two step-grandchildren, Austin and Ashley Mathews of Hoffman Estates; her sister, Mary Jo (George) Heathcoat of Peoria and her brother, Richard Frisch also of Peoria. She was preceded in death by parents. Betty was an LPN for Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria for 34 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Peoria, the Peoria Women’s Civic Federation, Senior Saints, and she was the President of Neighborhood House. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10am at St. Ann Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 5pm to 7pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with a prayer service at 4:45pm. An additional visitation will be held one half hour prior to the mass at the church on Wednesday. Entombment will be at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.
