Brent was born on February 14, 1954 in Peoria, IL. He is the son of George and Laura Jane (Wintersteen) Getz.
Surviving are his sister, Vicki (Gary) Johnson of West Peoria, IL; his nephew, Matthew (Christine) Peplow of St Louis, MO; his great-nephews, Jameson, Eddie and Matthew; and his beloved dog, Autumn.
Brent retired from Caterpillar after 30 years. After his retirement he worked as a mechanic for Reiman’s Harley Davidson in Kewanee. Brent loved working with cars, but his true passion was motorcycles. He was a member of the Sauk Trail Chapter of the Harley Owners Group, where he served as Past-President and Historian. Brent also enjoyed spending time with his nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 11am at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with visitation held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Paul Park will be officiating.
