

He was born January 3, 1937 in Springfield, IL to Edward “Ted” and Eileen (Stinnett) Boyle-Sheibley. He married Marilyn Chillo on August 20, 1960 in Evergreen Park, IL. He was preceded in death by his father and step father, Paul Sheibley.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn and his mother, Eileen Sheibley both of Peoria, two children, Brett A. (Marianna) Boyle of St. Louis, MO and Leslie (Kent) Ebersold of Downers Grove, IL. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Sean Boyle, Kelsey Boyle, Jack Ebersold and Sam Ebersold and one step-granddaughter, Nicole Goldberg.
Bruce dedicated his professional life to teaching, counseling, and coaching. After beginning his career at Limestone High School, he then spent the next 33 years at Peoria High School before retiring in 1993. In 1974, his 2A basketball team finished third at the state tournament. He lead his 1977 basketball team to the 2A State Championship. With an 80% winning record as a varsity basketball coach, he was later inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, Springfield Sports Hall of Fame, Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame, and Peoria High School Athletic Hall of Fame He was a member of the Elks Club #20 and attended Trinity Lutheran Church both in Peoria. He also spent the last 20 years as a starter at Madison Golf Course.
A visitation will be Friday, September 28, 2012 from 4 to 8 pm at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home. A service will be Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Rev. Mark Nelson will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
