She was born December 13, 1941, in Peoria, Ill., to Willard and Bodona (Paris) McCaddon. She married Gerald Brockway on January 1, 1980, in Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents, a niece Tina, and her brother, Neal McCaddon.
Surviving are her husband, Gerald of Morton; two sons, Brett Hammond of Washington and Ehren Hammond of Morton; four step-children, LeAnn Dust of Pekin, Lawrence (Peggy) Brockway of Kentucky, Elmer (Kelly Davidson) Brockway of Canton and Brian (Darah Heilman) Brockway of Canton; two siblings, Dean McCaddon of Warrenton, MO and Pamala (Robert) Knott of Peoria; 10 grandchildren, Taylor, Annaliza, Mason, Sylvia, Seth, Bo, Frankie, Tiffany, Sean, and Brody; and three great-grandchildren.
Carol worked as a bookkeeper and manager of Shamrock Plastic Inc. for many years before retiring. She was a member of Forest Hill United Methodist Church in Peoria, the Association of Professional Bookkeepers, N.A.F, and the Geologist Society. She was also a Notary Public in the State of Illinois and a former Trustee for the village of Mapleton.
A funeral service will be at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, with visitation one hour prior to the service at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Burial will follow the service at Parkview Cemetery.
