Carolyn Jean Babcock, 88, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026. at Carle Health Proctor Hospital. Born in Peoria, on April 14, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William W. and Signa E. (Snider) Babcock.
Survivors include a brother, Reverend Charles "Chuck" (Burnell) Babcock; two nieces, Jessica Babcock and Linda Leonard; a nephew, Bruce Babcock; and many great nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Babcock.
Carolyn was a professional tutor for over 20 years. She was also a volunteer tutor for the after school program at the Southside Mission. Previously she worked as a first grade teacher for the Peoria Heights School District. She retired in 2000. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.
Per her wishes, there will be no services. Entombment will take place at American Mausoleum. Memorial contributions can be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of IL or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate. Condolences and memories may be shared through Davison-Fulton.com
