Catherine Louise Allen

She was born January 25, 1938 in Peoria to Charles and Pearl (Meskimmen) Jenkins. She married Mel Allen on April 5, 1957 in Bartonville. He survives along with three children: Kathy (Greg Hamilton) Murphy of Peoria, Brad (Shelly Stringer) Allen of Peoria, John Allen of Peoria, two grandchildren: Matt (Alana) Murphy, Jessica (Alex) Taylor, five great-grandchildren: Christian, Eva, Kaden, McKenna, Addison, and one sister, Estelalien Stewart-Schielein of Bartonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Charles Jenkins, Wilber Jenkins, and three sisters: Ella Cunningham, Mary Anderson, and Cora Jenkins.

Early in her career she worked at Hiram Walker and Peoria State Hospital. She volunteered at Methodist Medical Center. Later she was employed by OSF St Francis Medical Center, where she retired from family practice in OSF North building.

She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville.

Our beautiful mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend will be missed and cherished by all who knew and loved her. Passing into the next life is as sacred as being born into this one.

Catherine loved to travel. She got to travel to Hawaii, Cancun, Virgin Islands, Texas, California, Las Vegas, and Florida.

Per Catherines request, the family is having private services with burial in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville, the charity of your choice, or St Jude Midwest Affiliate.
