C.B. "Bud" Potts

Bud was born on Feb. 18, 1929, in Wheaton, Mo., to Bert C. and Eula Montez (Kelly) Potts. He married Barbara L. Williams on June 10, 1951, in Neosho, Mo.

Bud is survived by his wife, Barbara; his three children, Dennis Potts of Colona, Ill., Carol (Mike) Clark of Chillicothe, Ill., and Bryan Potts of Rock Island, Ill; his grandchildren, Geoffrey Potts, Becky (Chris) Hall, Melissa (Jim) Kubicek, Sarah Kenser, Karen (Shawn) Osborne, Naomi (Dustin) Whitman, Kelli (Dustin) Faulkner and Jessica Potts; and nine great-grandchildren, Christian and Brandon Conley, Avrey Thomas, Emma and Samuel Vaughn, Lydia and Seth Osborne, and Addilyn and Bentley Faulkner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild, Gregory Potts; and his sisters, Vera Cartwright and Bonnie Price.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Bud owned and operated Bud Potts Insurance Agency for over 30 years.

Cremation rights will be accorded, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at noon at Woodland Baptist Church in Peoria. The Rev. Joel Newton will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
