Clifford David "Dave" Underwood, 72, of Peoria, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Born in Peoria, on April 6, 1954, he was the son of Clifford Donald Underwood and Shirley (Miller) Wilson. On February 11, 1978, he married Lori Jean Danley.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Underwood; daughter, Stacy Ciaccio; son, Adam Underwood; bonus son, Brandon Saxby; three grandchildren, Aubrey, Matthew, and Ava Ciaccio; four sisters, Mary (Mark) Reeser, Peggy (Dennis) Kaufman, Janet (Jon) McGonagle, and Audrey Mehl; his fur babies, Maggie and Copper; and several nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Chrissy.
Dave worked as a custodian at the Peoria Civic Center for 38 years. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, planting flowers, and building LEGO sets. He had a heart of gold and always helped others until his health declined. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially making silly songs for them.
He was a member of Bradley Epworth Church where services will be held. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Tom Eckhardt, officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to SAMS Shelter, TAPS Shelter, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to any organization of your choosing. Please come dressed casually.
