My wife and I always enjoy having the Monroe family as our neighbors. Vern loved feeding the squirrels. Connie's cats sometime came over to the fence to visit us. One time I was standing by the fence and her cat noticed my foot moving the grass. The cat was ready to catch whatever was in there, when I raised my foot and the disappointed kitty left in a hurry.

God saw your endless struggles, and help for you was not to be:
So He put his arms around you, and whispered come with me.
With tearful eyes in silence you suffered, and slowly faded away.
Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating; your hard working hands lay to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

We were so sorry to hear about Connie. She certainly fought a long, hard battle. I remember the day Patti and I stopped in at the Bartonville house when all you girls were together. It was such a nice visit catching up on old times. Then in May of '18 Patti and I were able to visit at Heartland. I think both Jane and Carol were with Connie then. Connie was alert and remembered both Patti and me. I'm glad we had that time together. What a blessing all of you were to Connie. I know you will miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Love, Margie and Gary
