She was born on January 18, 1979 in Albion, Michigan. Her parents are Dean and Karla (Eaton) Moran. She married Dawn Scally on July 19, 2014. She survives.
Crystal and Dawn met when Crystal was home on military leave in 2001 and were together for 22 years and 8 months of amazingness.
Also surviving are her parents; brother, Terry "TJ" (Michelle) Moran; sisters, Jennifer (Moran) Puckett (Robert), and Megan Moran; and a nephew and niece.
She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Crystal was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
In her younger years, Crystal was a volleyball setter and soccer player. Later she played pool in several leagues. She also bowled in a few leagues with her wife (even though she "hated" the activity but really "liked most of the people"). She loved playing the guitar and was even the rhythm guitarist briefly in a local band. She would play at home and sing so softly and beautifully, but loved to belt out "Crimson and Clover" and "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" at Karaoke.
Crystal enjoyed cooking, cooking shows, cartoon shows and "Karen" videos. She was remarkable at quoting movies. Her favorite was, "No regrets... not even one single letter." But she made it a statement, not a question. She would also make up new words to songs to fit a situation, resulting in hours of laughter.
Most of all, Crystal always wanted to make people laugh and be happy. She was so silly, wanting to wear her unicorn inflatable or giraffe onesie to make people smile. Her laugh and smile were infectious and beautiful.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial service and Military Honors will be held for Crystal on Thursday, November 9, at 4pm, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, with a visitation to follow from 5pm-7pm.
Memorials can be made to T.A.P.S. in Pekin.
