Darrell Everett Smith Sr.

Darrell Everett Smith Sr., 72, of Peoria, passed away at 12:54 pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Kindred Hospital in Peoria. He was born on April 11, 1941 in Flat River, MO to Everett Roscoe and Alta (Tongay) Smith. He married Doris June Penderphy. He later married Carol K Jolly, she preceded him in death. He then married Consuelo Dizon Oronce on January 7, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jeff Smith, step son, Virgilio Oronce, one sister and one brother.

Surviving is his wife, Consuelo of Peoria, twelve children, Robin Johnson, Christy Darron, Darrell E. Smith Jr., Crystal Deeds, Dee Helfers, Rikki Hall, Arlene Spear, Anneth Tangcunco, Araceli Penrose, Ariel and Anthony Oronce and AmyKay Sarmiento and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Darrell served in the U.S. Navy and in the U.S Army Reserve. He then worked as a waste water treatment plant Operator with Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 974 and attended at Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria. Darrell was an avid golfer and loved to attend his grandchildren's sporting events, singing and playing his guitar.

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be at 11:30 am, Friday, May 24, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church. The Franciscan Friars will officiate. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
