Dennis Andrew Pierce

Dennis was born November 22,1960, in Champaign Il to Alfred and Frances (nee’) Akers Pierce. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his brother Patrick.

Dennis is survived by his sister Lonna (Larry)O’Connor, brothers Bill (Debbie) and John (Linda), sister-n-law Marianne (nee Collins) and a host of nieces and nephews who referred to him as “Funcle Dennis.” The fun uncle.

Dennis graduated from Champaign Central High School and Western Illinois University. After graduation, Dennis lived in California and Chicago before settling in Peoria to be closer to family. Dennis was certified massage therapist, worked as a manager for Marriott Hotels and as a patient advocate at Midwest Orthopedics.

Dennis was a dog lover and always had one for a pet. He had Huck the gentle Doberman, followed by Georgie, Ralphie and Frankie. They were his kids and he took great care of them.

Dennis played softball and was an outstanding bowler. Rarely did he miss a family celebration and events. He participated in many fundraising activities and served on the board of Central Illinois FRIENDS. Dennis enjoyed being out with friends. He enjoyed trivia nights, dancing, listening to bands or just relaxing with friends at his favorite bar. He loved and was loved very much.

A celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 16th from 11-2, at the Lindenhof, 7403 N. Radnor Road, Peoria Il
