Born October 8, 1935 in Peru, Illinois to Raymond and Jeanette (Ruppert) Castagna; he married Carol Pyszka on June 7, 1958 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Peru. She survives in Peoria.
Also surviving are his children, Don Castagna, Terri Castagna, Lori (Dave) Endsley and Jeff Castagna; grandchildren, Christopher, Maria, Scott, Laura, Skyler and Gracie; and great grandchildren, Kolton, Evan and Owen.
He was a 1953 graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School and earned a Bachelors Degree from Illinois State University.
Donald was a Data Processing Manager with Growmark (FS) and RLI for many years. In retirement he worked with Traders Realty in Peoria as a Broker/Manager.
He treasured time with his family more than anything. He also enjoyed golf, bridge, reading, gardening and fishing.
Donald was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Peoria Heights where Mass will be held at 10:30 am Monday, July 2, 2018 with the Rev. Paul Stark as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.
Visitation will be 3:00 – 5:00 pm Sunday, July 1st at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home 2408 West Willow Knolls Dr, Peoria. A prayer service will precede the visitation at 2:30 pm Sunday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Peoria.
