Donald R. Erwin, age 75, of Peoria passed away Monday May 14, 2012 at 11:05 p.m. at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. He was born Aug. 16, 1936, in Peoria to James A. and Ada M. (Frey) Erwin. He married Sueko Nakahodo July 29, 1966 in Okinawa. She survives along with one daughter, Sayuri (Nathan) Elmore of Chattanooga, TN, two sons: Michael Erwin of Peoria, Brian Erwin of Peoria, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Raymond S. Erwin, and two brothers: Harmon and Robert Erwin. Don was US Air Force Veteran and served in Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force July 1, 1974 after serving over 20 years. At his retirement he was a Master Sergeant. He was a lifetime member of the Peoria Heights VFW Post 2602. He was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. Funeral services will be Tuesday May 22, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery with full Military Rites. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
