

Donald was born January 6, 1924 in Elmwood, Illinois the son of Edward & Ilva (Runyon) Korth. He married Betty R. Poling in Peoria on July 3, 1948.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years and one brother and one sister.
Donald is survived by one daughter, Ellen Brogan of Washington; one grandson, Neil Brogan of Washington; and two great-granddaughters, Lilly and Molly also of Washington.
He attended Bradley University,and was a graduate of Indiana University Savings and Loan Graduate School.
Donald was a Marine Corps veteran of WWII. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, and the Presidential Unit Citation for action at Okinawa campaign in April 1945. He was a life member of D.A.V.
He was a charter member and longtime Treasurer of Sertoma Club, past President of Greater Peoria Savings and Loan League, past Treasurer of Greater Peoria Building Contractors Association, past Secretary and Director of University Club, and past member of Mt. Hawley Country Club, past Associate Member of Peoria Board of Realtors, and past Associate Member of Society of Residential Appraisers.
Donald has been a member of 1st Federated Church of Peoria since 1953.
He was employed by Security Savings and Loan Association of Peoria for 38 years, when he retired in 1986 he was Vice President and a commercial loan officer.
A Graveside service will be held at Swan Lake Memory Gardens at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012.
Memorials may be made to Methodist Hospice.
