Dorothy Jane Erbe (nee Stotler), 84, of Peoria, IL went to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 28, 2022. She arrived into this world on October 15, 1937, born to Cornelia and Harry Stotler in Cleveland, Ohio.
A graduate of Peoria High School, Dorothy married her high school sweetheart, Bob Erbe, in June 1960. She and Bob lovingly raised two daughters, Laura Kowalske (Peoria) and Jennifer Keltner (Ankeny, IA).
Dorothy worked in education for many years as a reading tutor in Peoria District 150. Active in many social organizations and clubs, she was especially proud of her decades long P.E.O. membership, her participation in the Methodist Service League, and her avid involvement in several needlework and stitchery guilds. Dorothy also loved a good mystery book and a Hallmark movie.
She is survived by her two daughters, two sons-in-law (Kent Kowalske and Steve Keltner), five grandchildren (Samantha Keltner, Libby Warnken, Scott Keltner, Alyssa Kowalske, and Drew Kowalske), two great grandchildren (Ellie and Poppy Warnken), four nieces, and a nephew (Susan Jones, Sally Sterling, Nancy Brubaker, Amy McWethy, and Tom McWethy). Preceding her in death were her parents, her sister Nancy McWethy, and her husband Robert (Bob) Erbe.
Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at First Federated Church, 3601 N. Sheridan Road, Peoria. Visitation will be from 2 – 3:30 p.m. Masks are required. Burial will follow the services at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
