She was born May 30, 1942 in Wyoming, IL to John and Elinor (Maxwell) Read.
She married Raymond Sharp in Wyoming. He passed away May 29, 2008 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kathy Jackson.
Survivors include two sons: Michael Sharp of Peoria Heights, Vincent (Missy) Sharp of Peoria Heights, one daughter, Melissa Hermacinski of Peoria, three grandchildren: Melody, Jacob, Alex, two great-grandchildren: Aryia, Idyn, and one brother, John (Linda) Read of East Peoria.
Dorothy was a Technical Advisor for Ruppman Co. in Peoria for 15 years. She was a member of the University United Methodist Church in Peoria.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the Peoria Area Alzheimer’s Chapter.
