

He was born to Michael and Mary Leganski on June 21, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Leone; his three children Michael (Cheryl), Christopher, and Lawren (Jeffrey); his three grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily (Raven), and Lydia; and his brother Thomas (Peggy). He is preceded in death by his brother Marvin.
He is a graduate of Morton West High School, Morton Junior College and earned his bachelors and masters and received his doctorate from Northern Illinois University in 1973.
He has been a licensed clinical psychologist in practice for over 50 years. He was a licensed clinical psychologist at Elgin State Hospital. Then was the director of the Mental Health Center for Eastern Iowa in Dubuque. Don is the founding clinical psychologist for the Ameel Rashid Center for Addiction Recovery at Proctor Hospital. He has been the consulting psychologist for Proctor hospital in Peoria since 1979.
He is an avid naturalist, photographer, humanitarian, and loved being in the home he designed, surrounded by family. He was known for his initiative, ability to build or fix anything, had an unmatched eye for architectural design, and was always willing to lend a hand to those he cared for and supported.
Services will be held at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Wilton Funeral Home in celebration of his life on May 16th from 3 to 6 p.m.
