

Earl Ernest Edgington, 88, of Peoria, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital. Born in Peoria, on April 21, 1938, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Evelyn (Halstead) Edgington.
Following graduation at Manuel High School in 1956, Earl served in the US Army and Army Reserves until he was honorably discharged.
Survivors include his daughter, Joleen Bressner; granddaughter, Jill (Tony) Dodaro; two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Lucas; a brother, Eugene (Hannelore) Edgington. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eric E. Edgington; and a brother, Kenneth (Yvonne) Edgington.
Earl was a custodian for Peoria Public School District 150 until he retired in April of this year. He enjoyed playing games with his daughter, granddaughter, and great-grandchildren, coin collecting, bowling, drag racing, and watching NASCAR. He was a member of the American Legion, National Rifle Association, and an Emerald member at Par-A-Dice.
