

He leaves to cherish his most precious memories his wife of 40 years, Letha Cagle. His legacy to this Earth includes five children, Edward (Tracy) Cagle Jr., Deondray (LaShonda) Cagle Sr., Jenifer (Marcus) Langhorn, Joy Cagle and Sherneka Cagle; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Edward has two sisters, Ruby Winters and Barbara Cagle Welch, both of Peoria. He also leaves to share his memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Bobby Cagle Sr., Claude Cagle, William Cagle, James Cagle and Earl Cagle; father in love, Freddie Jones; and mother in love, Maggie Washington.
Edward attended Woodruff High School and retired from Local Laborers #165 after 36 years and the City of Peoria after 33 years. He also retired as a referee for IHSA and IESA after more than 20 years.
Edward gave his life to Christ at a young age. Throughout his years he served as an Usher, Sunday School Teacher, Layman and Choir Member. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him as a mentor, coach, referee and friend.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church. Sr. Pastor Devereaux Hubbard will officiate. Edward will be laid to rest at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in Charge of Arrangements.
