

Edward E. Hamann, age 67, of Peoria, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Ed was born on September 3, 1946 in Streator, Illinois to Albert and Carolyne (Dixon) Hamann. He married Connie Rave on December 30, 1978 in Normal, Illinois.
Ed is survived by his wife, Connie; five sons, David (Jolene) Hamann of Bloomington, IL, Steve (Pam) Hamann of Evanston, IL, Rick (Diana) Hamann of Evanston, IL, Luke (Dana) Hamann of Dubuque, IA and Noah (Kira) Hamann of Normal, IL; eight grandchildren and one brother, Richard (Julie) Hamann of Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ed was a professor for over 20 years for Western Illinois University before retiring in 2011. He was also a marriage and family counselor, working in private practice, at Joy Miller and Associates. Ed was a member of First English Lutheran Church and he was a member of the Proctor Volunteer Services.
Without question, Ed’s greatest accomplishment and source of joy was his family.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11am at First English Lutheran Church in Peoria. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Peoria Area Food Bank.
