Peoria – Eileen Rose Lorber, 89, of Peoria, IL passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Washington Christian Village. She was born September 2, 1926 in Peoria, IL to August and Rose (Mueller) Swanson. She married Robert Lorber on December 31, 1947 in Peoria, IL. Surviving are her two daughters: Diana Pivoney of Peoria, IL, and Lucinda (Paul) Barlow of Bartonville, IL, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four brothers. Eileen worked for Szolds Department Store for ten years and the AARP Employment Agency as an administrative assistance for seventeen years. Eileen loved to spend time with her family and friends. Her hobbies included playing the piano and cheering on her beloved St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals were special to her because Eileen’s brothers played for their minor league team. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Washington Christian Village and O.S.F. Hospice for their care of Eileen. Cremation rites have been accorded.
