Eng Seng Loh

Passed away on August 2, 2019

Eng Seng Loh, 61, of Dunlap passed away Friday, August 2, 2019.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, and their daughters Alexandra and Emily and their spouses, by his sister Aye Li and his brothers Eng Hoe and Eng Guan and their spouses and children. Also surviving are in-laws Robert and Daniel and their spouses and children, and many other loving relatives.

Eng Seng recently retired from Caterpillar. He enjoyed skiing, hiking and traveling with friends and family, practicing Tae Kwon Do, and reading voraciously. His intense curiosity led him to talk to people everywhere he went, resulting in many friendships and contacts all over the world.

Eng Seng wanted to see everything and go everywhere and try everything- new businesses, outdoor adventures, new foods, foreign countries. He always led the way with a smile on his face- another mile- come on! Let's try this trail!

Eng Seng will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

There will be an informal gathering of family and friends at Barracks Cater Inn on 1224 W. Pioneer Parkway, Peoria, on Sunday, August 11th between 1 and 3 o'clock.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity or organization, or plant a tree.

Words can’t express the sadness I felt when learning the news of Eng Seng’s passing. He was both a great friend and Caterpillar teammate. I remember fondly our lunches from a street cart on one of the benches in front of Cat HQ where we talked about everything from solving global warming to the best route to take when hiking the Grand Canyon. He will be missed

Eng Seng was among the best people I have known. He always had a smile and a positive attitude regardless of the situation. He was extremely smart, adventurous and always up for a challenge. He had this insatiable hunger to explore the World, meet new people and acquire knowledge and information. I will miss you Eng Seng. My condolences to Nan, Emily, Alex and the extended family.

I first met Eng Seng at our children’s first kindergarten meeting, my daughter was very quiet and he was so warmly encouraging his daughter to talk to her. The kids are still friends though they are miles away. My condolences, Eng Seng touched many hearts.

I am saddened to hear that Eng Seng has passed away. He was ever the optimist and I was fortunate to work with him on two separate occasions at Caterpillar. He always challenged me to think strategically, about work and career. We often enjoyed discussing our daughters’ college plans and I know he cared deeply for his family. My sympathies.
