Evelyn Hoerr

Born October 5, 1924 in Cissna Park, IL to Gottlieb and Emma (Rentsch) Reutter; she married Carl A. Hoerr on January 22, 1956 in Cissna Park. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2013.

Also preceding in death were her parents; sisters, Marian Reutter, Charlene Sommerhalder; and brother, Donald Reutter.

She is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Tom) Schmidgall of Morris, MN and their children, Rachel (Josh) Marshall, Matthew (Kelly) Schmidgall and Jesse (Treanne) Schmidgall; son, Carl (Debby) Hoerr II of Peoria, and their children, Ryan (Joy) Hoerr, Cassie (Brandon) Schock, Kary (Trent) Scholl, Abby (Brent) Schmidgall, Polly (Austin) Endress and Brett (Alexandra) Hoerr; son, Joel (Tania) Hoerr of Peoria, and their children, Mitchell, Taylor (Brandon) Fritz and Kirstin (Tanner) Graham; great grandchildren, Logan, Brynley and Cade Marshall, Carsen, Jace, Crew, Parker, Rhett and Evie Schmidgall, Tecca (Andrew) Cottrell, Kip, Denver, Montana, Cleve, August, Poppy, and Forrest Hoerr; Saige (Kaden) Schlipf, Creigh (Alaina), Scout and Paisley Schock; Tea, Kenzi, Mac, Tali and Gabe Scholl; Piper, Sailor, Aspen and Franci Schmidgall, Penelope and Zayden Endress, and Robbi, Finn , Carver and Tessa Fritz; great-great grandchildren, Navy Schlipf and Wesley Cottrell; sisters-in-law, Mildred Moser and Eloise Meister.

All of her grandchildren were very precious to her and she prayed for them daily. She will be remembered by her family as their biggest cheerleader and prayer warrior.

She was converted and baptized in the Apostolic Christian Church in 1943 and was actively involved until her death. Evelyn held a great love for Jesus, and her church family; mentoring younger women of the church.

Visitation will be held 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, July 18, 2025 at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria, with further visitation 9:00 am until 9:45 am Saturday, July 19, at the Peoria Apostolic Christian Church. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 am with Church Ministers officiating.

Burial will be at the Peoria Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery in rural Edwards.

Memorials are suggested to the Apostolic Christian Skylines in Peoria.
