Frances "Fran" Ruth Monce

Frances Ruth "Fran" Monce, 81, of West Peoria, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at her home. She was born on December 17, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a daughter of Robert Mark Nelson and Margaret Lois (Gish) Nelson. Fran married John R. “Jay” Monce on September 23, 1961 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2017 in West Peoria.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Richard Monce.

Fran is survived by her three children, Mark (Ana) Monce of Naples, Florida, Susan Monce of West Peoria, and William Monce of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Jacob Cotton, Payton (Ciara) Monce, Aiden Monce, Mason Monce; three great-grandchildren, Sophia Cotton and Grit Cotton; and Raelynn Monce; and her siblings, brother, Robert (Pat) Nelson of Brimfield, Kathryn Nelson of West Peoria.

Fran attended Peoria High School graduating in 1960.

Fran worked in the Personnel Department at Caterpillar, Inc. in Mossville, from 1977 until finally retiring in 2007.

She attended First United Methodist Church in Peoria while growing up and remained privately spiritual her entire life.

Fran was a generous and tireless provider to all. She enjoyed painting landscapes, crochet, cross stitch, reading, and puzzles of all kinds. Mostly she enjoyed sharing her time, laughter, and love with her family.

Fran's memorial service will be at 2:30 pm on Saturday, January 27 at the Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Her memorial visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm also on Saturday at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in Swan Lake Memory Gardens at a later date.
