

He was born Oct. 23, 1920 in Peoria to Louis and Elizabeth (Hessler) Schlueter. He married Jeannie Sinclair on Sep. 14, 1946 in Peoria. She passed away on Feb. 22, 2004 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Frank Schlueter, Jr, one brother, Herman Schlueter, and three sisters: Elizabeth Peters, Martha Tracy, and Catherine Schlueter.
Survivors include two daughters: Rosann Taylor of East Peoria, Susan (George) Hill, Jr of Pekin, six grandchildren: Johnathon, Zachary, Solomon Taylor, George Hill III, Mandy Arrowood, Dawn Schlueter, and nine great-grandchildren.
Frank was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a Machinist for R. Hershel Manufacturing for 35 years then Caterpillar, Inc. for an additional 8 years before his retirement.
He was an avid Woodworker.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. At church he was a longtime Usher, on the Board of Trustees, and following his retirement he volunteered at Christ Lutheran Grade School.
Visitation will be Friday, March 10, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church. Rev. Karl Eckhoff will officiate. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church.
Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery with Military Honors.
Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or the South Side Mission.
