

Fred Nepolello, 88, of Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Independence Village in Peoria. He was born on April 10, 1937, in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, the only child of Minnie Roffol. Fred married Minnie Angela Arabia on September 6, 1958 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. She preceded him in death on January 28, 2020 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Fred is survived by his three sons, Fred Nepolello of Irvine, California, Tony (Carol) Nepolello of Dunlap, Illinois, and Matt Nepolello of Marquette Heights, Illinois. He is survived by his grandchildren Taryn (Alex) Harm, Gisele Nepolello, Zoe Nepolello, Emma (Josh) Kelch, Josh Nepolello, and Adam Nepolello.
Fred and Minnie moved to Peoria, Illinois, in 1958. They built a house in Morton and moved there in 1963. After Fred retired in 1998, they moved to Naples, Florida. However, upon missing their grandchildren, they moved back to Peoria in 2004.
Fred loved sports! When he was 21, he tried out for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Even though he wasn’t selected, he continued to cheer them on throughout his life. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan as well. He enjoyed coaching youth baseball and played golf as much as possible.
Fred attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton and was a 4th degree knight for the Knights of Columbus.
Fred last worked as a custodian for Morton Unit School District 709 for 15 years, retiring in 1998. He previously worked at Pabst Brewery in Peoria.
Cremation has been entrusted to Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria.
Fred's memorial service was held August 2, 2025, and he and his wife Minnie and his mother Minnie Roffol were laid to rest in Roberts Cemetery in Morton, Illinois.
