

Gary "Rusty" Rusterholz, 72, of Peoria passed away and lost his fight with cancer at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at his residence.Now he's trying to catch those big fish in the great heavenly fishing hole.Gary was born Jan. 28, 1942, in Pekin, the son of Lewis and Opal Hill Rusterholz. He married Charlene Davis Collins on March 21, 1969, in Gulfport, Miss.He is survived by his wife of 44 years; one daughter, Debra (Gary) Isbell of Trivoli; two grandsons, Gary (Mallory) and Daniel Isbell of Trivoli; one stepgranddaughter, Jodi Gilstrap; one great-granddaughter, Emmie and one on the way; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Megan and Addy and Steven; two sisters, Joyce Antonini and Sharon (Bob) Reed; and two brothers, Larry (Rae) Rusterholz and Jr. (Sharon) Beetschen.Gary was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and infant daughter, Sherri Le Ann.He was a graduate of Boys Town in Nebraska and served nine years in the Navy. He was a Vietnam veteran.Gary worked construction as a laborer; last working for Berner and Stark Excavating in Bloomington. He also was a part-time cook for several restaurants.Services will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be three hours prior to services. Monsignor Brownsey will officiate.
