George Young, age 76, of Peoria, passed away Wednesday Jan. 8, 2014 at 5:33 a.m. at his residence. He was born Dec. 15, 1937 in Canton, China to Hong and Yee (Lam) Sit. He married Mavis Sue Chan Sep. 23, 1963 in Peoria. She survives along with two daughters: Barbara (John) Malecki of Hummelstown, PA, Marty (Hung) Nguyen of West Chicago, three grandchildren: Mei-Ling Malecki, Brody Nguyen, Sydney Nguyen, one brother, and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. George was a United States Army Veteran serving from 1961 through 1963. He owned and operated Ming Shee and Egg Roll Express in Peoria. George loved all his family and relatives, especially his own family. He enjoyed spending time in his yard and garden. Funeral services will be Saturday Jan. 11, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will be private with Military Honors.
