

She was born May 2, 1930 in Peoria the daughter of George and Athalia Ruth Dummler. She married Homer Curless on February 15, 1947 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1999.
Georgia is survived by three sons, Michael of San Francisco, CA, Paul (Pam) of Decatur IL, and David (Theresa) of Peoria; four grandchildren, Blair (Julie) Curless of Roswell, GA, Ashley (John) Ruhl of Duluth, GA, and Coleen (Adam) Lentz of Henry, IL; and three great-grandchildren, Corbin Curless, Aubrey and Logan Lentz, and Dean Ruhl.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James; two sisters, Joan and Betty; and one grandchild, Jessica.
Georgia married young and did not finish high school, but that did not stop her from earning her GED while raising three sons and obtaining outstanding grades while earning her LPN Certification or devoting a lifetime to continued learning and education. Georgia had many artistic talents including sewing, embroidery and painting. Her many creations continue to brighten this world. She was a member of the Illinois Art League and developed many lasting friendships through her artistic adventures. The trips and adventures with her beloved “Crazies” provided her with joy at the time they occurred and endured for many years afterward. Homer and Georgia were long time members of First Baptist Church of Peoria, Our Saviors Chapel, and Peoria Heights Congregational Church. Georgia’s faith was steady and unwavering.
Funeral services will be 11 am Friday, January 27, 2017 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Rev Stephen Barch will officiate.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
