He was born August 10, 1938 in Emden to Herman and Grace Creager Burger. He married Margie Lea Ayres on November 26, 1960 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on June 6, 2016.
Bud is survived by his children, Todd of Chillicothe, and Tonja (Brent) Wassi of Hanna City; four grandchildren, Shalynn and Jenna Burger and Taylor and Brayton Wassi; and several nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
Growing up in the Illinois Soldiers and Sailors Children’s Home, Bud worked very Hard to provide for his family. He was part of the CILCO Gas Department for thirty-five years.
Bud was an avid sports fan, even coaching his son’s little league team. He was always in attendance at his children and grandchildren’s activities and always showed how proud he was of their accomplishments.
He was an outdoorsman, always doing yard work, gardening, fishing, and adventuring through the woods.
Bud loved to travel with his loving wife anywhere they could go.
He was a very loving, supportive, motivating, and spoiling husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7:00pm January 21, 2019 also at the funeral home. Pastor Jack Thompson will officiate.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
