West Peoria – Gerald A. Roggy, 88, of West Peoria, IL passed away Saturday November 26, 2011 at his residence. Gerry was born November 19, 1923 in Leroy, IL to Charles and Myrtle (Riney) Roggy. He married Mary Roberts in Pasadena, CA.
Surviving is his daughter Penny (Gary) Cychosz of Machesney Park, IL, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, and his brother Merle E. Roggy of St. Louis, MO. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons; Stephen and Robert Roggy, and sister Charlene Roggy.
Gerry was a metallurgical chemist at Keystone Steel and Wire retiring in 1980. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during WWII. Gerry was a member of Joseph Robbins Lodge #930 A.F. & A.M., Good Sam Camping Club, Tri-County Travelers, First Christian Church in Peoria, a life member of the AMVETS, and he volunteered at the Neighborhood House in Peoria.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at First Christian Church in Peoria. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to Methodist Hospice. Online tributes and condolences may be made to www.Davison-Fulton.com.
