She was born on January 5, 1937, to Jabez and Emma (Kraft) Meister in Burlington, Oklahoma. She later moved to Girard, Kansas, then to Peoria in 1954.
Grace married Gordon Post on June 3, 1956. He preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, and her brother, Eldon Meister and sister, Lynn Hedrick.
She is survived by her children, Pamela (Fred) Douglas of Dunlap, and Jim (Debbie) Post of Blue Grass, Iowa; four grandchildren, Amy Beth of Dunlap, Jeffrey (Jenna) Douglas of Dunlap, Heather (Pat) Kohlmeier of Rockford, and Amber (Matt) McCormick of Erie; ten great-grandchildren; her siblings, Dale Meister of Peoria, May Meister of Peoria, Beth McCord of Garnett, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.
Grace worked at PARC for 7 years and Seapco for 22 years. She loved her work and her students, and always said it was one of the greatest blessings of her life. She always said "They will teach you how to love." Grace cared for people, and never knew a stranger. She made a new friend everywhere she went.
Her family meant the world to her, and she was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed having her family in for meals, camping, and planning many vacations. She was a great planner, if Gordon gave the OK to travel, it only took Grace 30 minutes to have all the reservations made. Grace and Gordon loved gospel music and traveled near and far to hear it.
Grace last attended Northfield Christian Fellowship in Tremont.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Liberty Village of Peoria for their kind and loving care for Grace during these past few years and Vitas Hospice for their kind and loving care the past few weeks.
