Harriett J. Dunlap, 77, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away at 3:38 p.m. on November 7, 2018, at Manor Court Skilled Nursing Center at Liberty Village in Peoria, Illinois, with her friends and family by her side. She was born on November 4, 1941, in Peoria, Illinois, to George and Bessie Graber. She married Spencer Dunlap on December 31, 1959, in the chapel at the Marine Base at Cherry Point, N.C. Harriett and Spence were high school sweethearts and were married for 50 years.
Surviving are her daughter, Debbie (Len) Lovel of Tulsa, Oklahoma, her daughter-in-law, Felma Dunlap of Peoria, her cousin, Judy (Bob) Conger of Peoria, three grandchildren, Ben (Lauren) Lovel, Beth (Brent) Wallace and Chris Lovel. Harriett was very proud of her two great grandchildren born this year, Branson Daniel Wallace and Magnolia Grace Lovel.
Harriett was predeceased in death by her husband, Spencer, her son, Daniel, an infant son, Steven, and both of her parents.
Harriett took pride in raising her family and being a homemaker. As her children grew, she worked as a church secretary and at an insurance company. She also served her church as the church organist for many years, and spent many years teaching piano.
A service will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at First English Lutheran Church in Peoria. The Rev. Ryan Anderson will officiate. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will follow the service at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
