She was born Aug. 23, 1918, in Elmwood, IL to Benjamin and Estella (Parkhurst) Buxton. She married Ernest Rapp on Oct. 10, 1940, in Farmington, IL. He passed away April 5, 1993, in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Mary Lynn Olson, one sister, Helen Weyhrich, and two brothers: Eugene and Lawrence Buxton.
Survivors include one son, David Rapp of Washington, one daughter, Diana (Tom) Bell, three grandchildren: Amanda Bell, Joshua (Melanie) Bell of Milan, IL, Kimberly (Randy) Aubuchon of Lake St Louis, MO, two great-grandchildren: Elias and Adeline Bell, both of Milan, and one son-in-law, Gary Olson of Platteville, WI.
Hazel was a self-employed beautician and a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Bible Church in Peoria.
Graveside services will be Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
