Helen M. Gale

Helen M. Gale, 100, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at her home. Born in Camp Grove, on January 10, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Neva (Reed) Nellinger. On October 19, 1946, she married James A. Gale. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2017.

Surviving her are three children, Jon Gale, Jamie Gale, and Tammy Simpson; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Aside from her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Vicki and Tom Gale; two sisters, Norma and Lola; and a brother, James.

Helen worked for Peoria Tractor & Equipment and then went on to work in the cafeteria at Dunlap High School, retiring in 1984. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and going to garage sales.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private interment will take place at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Condolences and memories may be shared through Woolsey-Wilton.com
