I worked at OSF Prompt Care with Helen and she was such a joy to work with. She talked often of her family and had such a big heart. She could also be a lot of fun. Sending sympathy to her family at this sad time. Jan Craps

What I am feeling right now is hard to put into words. Granny was the best grandmother in the whole world. She was loving, kind and patient. She accepted everyone for who they were, just the way they were.

May her memories bring us strength and put a smile on our face.

To Amy and all of Helen's family. So sorry to hear of Helen's passing. I hope you find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and no longer has to suffer from the terrible disease. I know you lost the relationship of her being your mom, husband, sister, etc.  years ago due to Alzheimer's but now her physical being is also gone and that too is so hard. Amy and I first met when we worked at the mall together. Helen also worked at the mall at a different store(Claire's, I think) and I got to know her too. She was always kind, fun, and always just had a bubbly personality. She accepted me as Amy's friend and always talked to me like she had known me forever. It has been a few years since I have seen Helen. The last time was when her whole family came to Missouri to watch her niece graduate from College. They came to my house in order to freshen up and change clothes in order to attend the graduation. I am glad I was able to see her that last time when she was still able to communicate. She still was as happy as she could be and that was great to see. When Amy told me that she had passed, it hit me very hard because my mom also has Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's is a terrible diesease and I am sorry that you too have had to witness it first hand. So, please accept my deepest sympathy and I will be thinking of all of you through this difficult time. I wish I could have been there today and I hope everything went well. I am sure it was a beautiful service and that you all could find some comfort in knowing how many people loved Helen.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Helen. I didn't know her long but that smile of hers was beautiful. Warren you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May you find strength and peace.

The loss here is just more than words can describe.  She was an extraordinary woman and always treated me as a son.  To all of my 2nd family, my heart goes out to you while I'm wishing I could be there during this time of sorrow.  Sending all my love your way.

Dear McReynolds Family:  I knew Helen from 7 th grade till a few years after she got married. We were neighbors and good friends. I even had the honor to stand up for her at her wedding. She was such a special person. Kind and funny. She was always so great at being a awesome friend. I have thought of her many times over the years. I  so very sorry for your loss. I was so sorry to read of Helen's passing. Worked with her and she and Warren lived on the same block as us on Lincoln Avenue. Amy and Chris would come down to our yard and play with Joe and Chris. I've run into her at the many jobs she has worked at and we would talk awhile. She will be so missed by her family. Our family sends prayers your way.

Patrick I am so very sorry your family has had the trauma first of the disease of Alzheimer's,  Its so very sad to watch the person you love go through this. Now to have to give her back to God is very hard. You and your family are in my prayers.  I love you and Kathy and the kids.

Helen may have become known to me because I was friends with Pat and Alan, but she became a person who had a great effect on my development as a human being because of her heart and her actions. 

Her home hosted many adventures of would be super heroes, dungeon explorers, and futuristic mages; nourishing our imaginations. But her hospitality included making sure we also nourished our bodies. 

As a young chef, she allowed me to cook and experiment on her and the family with all manner of concoctions, including one of the spiciest pots of jambalaya that I have ever asked another human to endure. Those days nourished my culinary confidence and experimentation.

When I needed a temporary roof over my head, her home was opened to me, without hesitation or reservation. Those days nourished my sense of community and family, gratitude and grace. 

She has given me some of the best advice that I have applied to my own two daughters, in a hope that I could raise my daughters at a fraction of her own success. She never once hesitated to call me out when I was wrong or allow me to try and fool myself. Nor would she have allowed me to not take due credit for accomplishments. In that, she nourished my humanity, and my compass for self worth.

I am sad to know that I will never again have a chance to learn from her. But her lessons will continue to nourish me, my children, and theirs.

So very sorry to hear of the passing of Helen. She was the hardest worker at OSF Prompt Care. Rest in peace Helen and my deepest condolences to all of your family. I knew her from years ago, being related to Unes,Georgia and Kathleen Williams. Been over 30 years talking to Kathleen. Might family have info on her?

I work with Sara at KK.  I never had the pleasure of meeting Helen, but I heard about her often.  I am sending love and prayers for Sara and the rest of the family.  There are no real words of comfort I can share.  Please just know that I am thinking of all of you.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I'm so glad I was able to see her every weekend when we were taking care of Mom.  She always had a smile and sometimes I even got a hug.  I miss her quick wit and her honest  opinions.  She really was a sweetheart.
