Henry L. Knox, 95, of Washington, IL passed away on September 3, 2026, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. Henry, also known as “Hank” was born on February 22, 1931, to Milton and Emily (Fox) Knox in Colchester, IL.
He is survived by his children, Connie (Robert) Hartseil, Brenda Athens, and one son, Henry Allen Knox. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeanie (Bob) Thrasher, John P. (Crystal) Gardner Jr., Mina (Don) Howard, Robert A. Gardner, Scott (Jessie) Stanton and Nick (Crystal) Trobaugh. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren as well. Sydnie and Connor Rush, Coby, Taylor, Camden and Hayden Gardner, Brandon Clemons, Tyler Trobaugh, Brandon and Shadrick Cotton, and Blain and Mason Stanton.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Emily, his wife, Betty Knox, and three daughters; Marlyn “Marty” Cooper, Becky Rogers, and Sandra “Sam” Wassi.
Henry joined the carpenters union in 1956 and was part of the union for 70 years. In Henry’s free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger days, and bowling, listening to country music, playing the guitar, dancing and spending time with his family as he got older.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 8th from 1:00p-2:00pm at Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home, 2408 W Willow Knolls Dr. Peoria., Peoria IL, with services to follow. Internment will be at Swan Lake Cemetery.
